10/19/02 through 11/30/02 - The End!

What are you reading?

Irate Weirdos didn't quite make it a full year. But, the time I spent out here was fun and I learned a whole lot. Both about the Internet and myself.

As of Thursday, I have begun a new project. Before we began IWDC, I suggested doing a science fiction zine. There are several on-line, if you are into that type of thing, take the time to search them out. IWDC was a simpler idea and we had the site up almost as soon as we had the idea.

I have started keeping all the notes I have for every idea I get excited about, just in case I want to do it later. So, I still had the notes for Station Enoch, the first idea for a sci-fi zine. I've loved the idea all along, I've always been a sci-fi fan. I've always wanted to be a writer. But, I think I often do better helping others write. I've been doing that since High School - I was the Senior Editor of my school news paper.

I'll also happily admit that I have always been inspired by one man's success. Hugh Hefner changed how this entire country viewed men, men's issues, sex and the publishing industry in general. Hefer took what amounted to a smart and sexy zine and turned it into an empire. It's easy to be inspired by him.

Okay, this new project probably won't make me rich. But, frankly, I'll be happy with a fun hobby. So, if you like all things sci-fi - keep your eyes on this site:

Orbital Magazine

We don't have any stories out there as of this writing - but if you are a writer, don't be shy. Let's hear from you!

I'm really excited about this project! My goal is to have daily content and put up four or so stories a week. Heck, there are few print mags that give you 15+ stories a month. Plus, we want to do articles, interviews and comics. Woo!

Please come out to OrbitalMag.com. Send me email and tell me what you think. Submit a story or some art. We will be nothing without you!

BTW, IWDC will still be here until February. Check back now and then, you never know what you might find!

So Long And Thanks For All The Douglas Adams Quotes

It looks like this is going to be the last entry on IWDC. Jericho's aspirations are higher than this mere blog, mine far lower. Anyway, it's been fun-ish.
